Senior-only Team

A senior-only team is a delivery model where every engineer on the project has at least 7-10 years of production experience and no juniors learn on the client's budget.

Definition

It means no staff augmentation pyramid: no junior writing the code, mid-level reviewing it, and senior occasionally checking in. The person writing the code is the person who has put production systems live for a decade, and they own the work end-to-end.

Why it matters for your business

Junior hours look cheap on a rate card and expensive on a calendar. A senior solves in a day what a junior solves in a week, and the senior's solution does not need to be rewritten in six months. The total cost of a senior-only team is almost always lower for short, outcome-bound engagements.

How we apply it

Every P&A engagement is staffed with senior engineers only. We do not have a bench of juniors to keep busy, and we do not pad the team to inflate the invoice. The team is small on purpose.
